Early 2000s reality television personality Bam Margera has arrived in Sydney, Australia, for a live spoken-word and Q&A tour, marking his first visit to the country in 13 years.

Margera, 47, was seen at Sydney Airport on Wednesday, dressed in a blue graphic t-shirt, black jeans, and purple sneakers, carrying a skateboard and bags. The former 'Jackass' star's arrival comes after he detailed a harrowing hospital experience in December 2022, where he stated he was "basically pronounced dead."

During an appearance on the Steve-O's Wild Ride! podcast in January 2023, Margera described suffering five seizures on December 8, 2022, which he noted was Elvis Presley's birthday. He revealed he had contracted a severe case of pneumonia and COVID-19, leading to his body shutting down.

"I bit my tongue so hard it was like nearly falling off, it got so swollen and puffy it wouldn't fit in my mouth and I was drinking the infected blood which gave me pneumonia as well," Margera recounted. A fifth seizure followed, during which he stopped breathing and required a tube. He remained on life support in an intensive care unit in a San Diego hospital for 10 days.

"I woke up five days later thinking I was there for a couple hours, they're like, 'Dude you've been here for nearly a week. We tried to take the tube out, and you weren't breathing on your own.' So I spent eight days in there," he shared, adding that he had no memory of the period he was unconscious.

Margera was released from the hospital in mid-December 2022. At the time, his family shared an update via his Instagram account, stating he was "on the road to recovery" and would be discharged soon. They confirmed his hospitalization, that he was testing negative for COVID-19, and receiving care for pneumonia, thanking fans for their support and prayers.
