Ariana Grande is reportedly planning to promote her upcoming film, "Focker-in-Law," this fall, a move that comes weeks after she announced a planned hiatus from the public spotlight. The singer-actress, 33, is set to star alongside Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, and Blythe Danner in the comedy, which is scheduled for release on Thanksgiving Day.
In early August, Grande withdrew from her West End role in "Sunday In The Park with George" and revealed her intention to take a break from public visibility. This announcement followed increasing scrutiny over her apparent weight loss. A representative for Grande stated at the time that she would be "taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour." The spokesperson added that Grande looked forward to finishing the tour "healthily and happily" before taking "a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances."
A source indicated to People that Grande will continue to "support her brand work throughout the break." Representatives for Grande did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Concerns about Grande's health intensified in July after she released a music video for her song "Petal," in which some viewers noted her sternum appeared prominent. British actress and activist Jameela Jamil publicly suggested that an eating disorder might be a factor.
Following the announcement of her hiatus, Grande personally addressed fans, asserting that the break had been planned "a long time ago" and emphasizing the need to "set boundaries." She clarified that the decision was not a reaction to "negativity" affecting her.
Grande's "Eternal Sunshine" tour concluded on Tuesday at London's The O2 arena, following a 41-show run across 10 cities. "This has been one of the most beautiful, extraordinary experiences of my life," the singer told fans during her final performance, expressing gratitude and stating, "I’ll cherish this experience always. I have the best fans in the entire world."
She also shared concert outtakes on Instagram with her 362 million followers, writing, "Thank you and I love you always."
During her final show, Grande also hinted at settling down with boyfriend Ricky Alvarez. She rekindled her relationship with the former backup dancer, whom she previously dated from 2015 to 2016, in June.
Throughout her tour, Grande frequently altered the lyrics to her song "Thank U, Next." On Tuesday, she changed the line, "Wrote some songs about Ricky, now I listen and laugh," to "Wrote some songs about Ricky, I'm tryna make him my last," sparking speculation about marriage.
