Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender were among the stars on the red carpet at the 83rd Venice Film Festival for the premiere of "The Echo Chamber" on Sunday.

Vikander, 37, wore a blue ruffled gown with a thigh-high split and a large bow detail. Fassbender, 49, appeared in a black tuxedo. The couple, who met in 2014 and married in 2017, shared a kiss for photographers.

"The Echo Chamber" is described as a somber, intimate love story. Vikander stars as Anne, an enigmatic physiotherapist, opposite Luca Marinelli, who plays Leo, a drug-addicted music producer. The film explores their codependent relationship, detailing themes of attachment, care, control, and separation.

Directed by Andrea Pallaoro, the film is adapted from the final screenplay by the late Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci. It is a contender for the Golden Lion award.

Co-stars Luca Marinelli and Susan Sarandon also attended the premiere. Sarandon, 79, was seen in a black strapless gown. Actor Orlando Bloom was also present, dressed in an all-black tuxedo.
