A communication breakdown between "90 Day Fiancé" couple Zied Hakimi and Rebecca Parrott surfaced during a recent episode of "90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort," centered on the division of household chores and differing expectations of a spouse. The argument, captured around a campsite with other cast members, highlighted Zied's assertion that he wants Rebecca to be a "real wife."
During a discussion facilitated by marriage therapist Dr. Tyrone K. Grandison, Zied, 32, stated that while he did not claim Rebecca, 55, was not a good wife, he desired her to act more like one he was accustomed to. He also cited a lack of verbal communication and Rebecca's long working hours, which he felt limited her ability to cook for him.
Fellow cast member Guillermo suggested that cultural differences were at the root of their conflict. He explained that Rebecca's role as a working woman might not align with the traditional expectations of a wife in Zied's home country, where a woman might be expected to focus more on domestic duties and caring for the household.
Rebecca countered that her willingness to cook for Zied diminished because he did not enjoy American cuisine. She recalled being a chef and initially eager to cook for him after he moved from Tunisia, but they found their food preferences clashed. "We actually never eat the same food anymore. That isn’t about me not wanting to cook," Rebecca stated.
She then directed the conversation to their finances, asking Zied if the bills were being paid. He acknowledged that their financial responsibilities were being met, a point that appeared to de-escalate the immediate tension. The couple, who married in April 2020, first appeared in Season 3 of "90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days" and later on Season 8 of the flagship series. They joined "90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort" to address ongoing issues including jealousy, communication, and control.
Despite their marital challenges, Rebecca posted a message celebrating their anniversary in April, reflecting on their eight years together and six years of marriage. "90 Day Fiancé: The Last Resort" airs Mondays on TLC.
