On Sunday's episode of "90 Day Fiancé," Catie, 26, aggressively attempted to kiss multiple male friends during her birthday celebration, actions which were witnessed by her fiancé, Josh, 30.
Josh relocated from the UK to the U.S. to be with Catie, but their relationship has faced challenges, including Catie's admitted habit of kissing friends when drinking. She has previously attributed this behavior to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
During the birthday event at a bar, Catie's friend Ryan, with whom she has a history of kissing, arrived. An awkward confrontation ensued outside the bar involving Catie, Josh, and Ryan. Ryan apologized to Josh for their past "inappropriate" actions, noting, "Catie’s kind of hard to say no to."
Josh accepted the apology but expressed his frustration with repeated apologies, as Catie's behavior continued even after they entered a committed relationship. "I want to be able to trust who you’re hanging out with," Josh told Catie. "I don’t want to control you. I want you to live your life, but also I don’t want you to make stupid decisions."
Despite Catie claiming she and Ryan were now "just chill friends," she later flippantly asked Josh, "Do you think I can make out with everyone I know?" Josh did not receive this joke well, telling the cameras he felt she was not ready for marriage.
As the night progressed and Catie continued to drink, she made further attempts to kiss Ryan and two other male friends, all while Josh was present. One of Catie's friends, Mark, spoke privately with Josh, urging him to confront Catie's behavior. Mark suggested Josh needed to be more assertive, stating, "In my head, you know, I try to wrap around what it would be like to be in your position, and I’d be furious... It’s OK to be mad."
After Josh mentioned his difficulty in distinguishing between Catie's behavior due to OCD and potential dramatic flair, Mark advised Josh to "put his foot down" and provide "tough love."
Catie's behavior escalated back at the bar, with Mark having to physically push her face away to prevent her from kissing him. "She’s toungeing my palm," Mark told Josh as he held his hand over Catie's face.
Josh ultimately expressed his exasperation, stating he was "done with this bulls–t." He told the cameras, "This is not the right start for any sort of a marriage that I want a part of. I need to have a conversation with Catie and say I’m not going to get married if I don’t know that her head’s in the right space."
