Wayfairer Travel Limited, a UK-based company specializing in package holidays to destinations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, has suspended all services "until further notice." Founded in 2012, the firm offered a range of trips including safaris, adventure getaways, and luxury alternatives. The company stated it is "truly sorry for the concern and uncertainty caused" and is unable to provide further information until it receives accounting and legal advice. A formal update was expected during the week of August 31.

Some customers currently on trips or with existing bookings have reported being left without clear guidance. One customer described being "stranded in Botswana" and attempting to complete their vacation out-of-pocket with no communication or offer of refund from Wayfairer. The company is currently taking steps to appoint an administrator.

The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust (ABTOT) has advised customers with Wayfairer bookings made on or before September 30, 2026, not to travel. For departures after that date, ABTOT recommends awaiting further information unless directly contacted with different instructions. ABTOT is arranging assistance for eligible UK customers as Wayfairer cannot currently guarantee the delivery of affected packages.

This closure marks the latest in a series of travel company failures in the UK. Earlier this summer, Global Vision International (GVI), which provided volunteering and charitable trip placements, cancelled all current and future programs. Additionally, Ski Yodl Ltd voluntarily entered liquidation last month, resulting in the cancellation of its ski holiday packages.

It's the most recent in a string of travel firm closures across the UK

However, this marked the first monthly decrease in 43 months, with prices falling by 0.3 percent from July. This trend suggests a move toward price stability, particularly in major cities like Madrid, where year-on-year price growth has significantly slowed. High prices in urban centers have reportedly made homeownership unaffordable for many families, contributing to increased housing stock and easing price pressures. The report suggests this trend may continue in the coming months, with potential for year-on-year price falls in specific areas. The high prices reached in major cities have led to an increasing number of families being unable to afford to buy, a source revealed
