Binance customers withdrew more than $3.6 billion of assets from the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange as it reopened on Sunday, following a record hack the previous week. The exchange had suspended all transactions in the wake of the incident, which impacted $6.3 billion worth of digital assets.

Major organizations, including the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), have accused North Korea of being responsible for the cyber attack, which is said to be the largest in history.

Binance stated that it has covered approximately 95% of the assets stolen in the breach, but acknowledged that sourcing the remaining amount may take longer. The company has previously committed to covering all losses linked to the attack.

An "initial spike" in withdrawals was observed, which later declined and are now "stabilising as expected," Binance posted on X. The exchange also confirmed that withdrawals for major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum have resumed, with more services set to be reinstated in phases as security checks are completed.
