Selena Gomez has sold her Encino, California, mansion for $5.39 million, a figure that fell short of its $6.49 million asking price by approximately $1.1 million. Despite the lower-than-expected sale price, Gomez, 34, still realized a profit, having purchased the property for $4.89 million in 2020.

The nearly 11,500-square-foot home, situated on just under an acre, features six bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms. The property boasts a significant celebrity history, having been custom-built in 1989 by rock musician Tom Petty, who owned it until his death in 2017.

Traces of its rock 'n' roll past remain, including a vocal booth on the lower level, believed to be part of Petty's original recording studio. This area also includes a creative workspace, wine cellar, gym, massage room, den, kitchen, and a guest suite.

Gomez utilized the home's kitchen as the backdrop for the first three seasons of her HBO Max cooking series, "Selena + Chef." The estate had undergone renovations before Gomez's purchase and was marketed as a celebrity compound upon its return to the market in May.

Interior features include high ceilings, multiple living and entertainment areas, two primary suites, and a movie theater. The backyard is equipped with a swimming pool, spa with a waterfall, cabana, bar, fire pit, and an outdoor dining area.

Gomez and her fiancé, music producer Benny Blanco, recently purchased a $35 million estate in Beverly Hills in an off-market transaction in December 2024. This new compound spans two lots and includes a main residence with seven bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, along with two separate guesthouses, one featuring a studio and the other a home theater. The Beverly Hills purchase was among the priciest deals in the area for 2024.
