Pringles is addressing a long-standing consumer complaint by introducing a new line of chips engineered specifically for dipping. The new Pringles Dippers feature a thicker, sturdier, and wavier design intended to prevent breakage when scooping into dips.

According to the brand, this is the first Pringles chip designed with dipping as its primary purpose. The enhanced structure is meant to accommodate various dipping styles, from light coatings to enthusiastic scoops, without crumbling.

The Pringles Dippers will be available in three flavors: Original, French Onion, and Bacon Cheddar. The new products are scheduled to appear on U.S. retail shelves starting in September.

The development comes after years of consumer feedback highlighting the fragility of the original Pringles chips when used with dips. Online discussions, including on Reddit, have frequently pointed out that standard Pringles can easily break, leading to frustration for chip and dip enthusiasts.

Eileen Flaherty-Yao, senior director of Salty, Mars Snacking North America, stated, "We know it can be frustrating if your typical salty dipping vessel prevents your perfect scoop or breaks as you dip, which is why we've created Pringles Dippers." She added, "Our iconic parabolic shape is now thicker and wavier than ever – built to handle any dipping style from light dips to heavy scoops."

In addition to the Dippers line, Pringles is also expanding its Pringles Mingles range with a new Sweet & Salty flavor. These puffed snacks, inspired by the brand's mascot Mr. P, feature a light texture and a combination of buttery sweetness and a salty finish.

These product launches reflect Pringles' ongoing strategy to innovate with diverse formats and flavors beyond its traditional curved potato chips.
