Pringles is introducing a new line of potato chips specifically designed for dipping, addressing long-standing consumer complaints about the fragility of its iconic curved crisps. The new Pringles Dippers feature a thicker, sturdier, and wavier construction aimed at preventing them from crumbling when submerged in dips.
This marks the brand's first product engineered with dipping as a primary function. The launch comes after years of consumer feedback, including online discussions where users expressed frustration with the standard Pringles breaking apart in heavier dips. Some customers had suggested alternative chips like wavy or kettle-style varieties as more suitable for dipping.
"We know it can be frustrating if your typical salty dipping vessel prevents your perfect scoop or breaks as you dip, which is why we've created Pringles Dippers," said Eileen Flaherty-Yao, senior director of Salty, Mars Snacking North America. "Our iconic parabolic shape is now thicker and wavier than ever – built to handle any dipping style from light dips to heavy scoops."
The Pringles Dippers range will be available in three flavors: Original, French Onion, and Bacon Cheddar. The Original flavor offers the classic Pringles taste, while French Onion combines caramelized onion notes with a creamy, tangy profile. Bacon Cheddar is designed with bold cheddar and smoky bacon flavors.
The new chips are set to roll out nationwide in the U.S. starting in September. In addition to the Dippers, Pringles is also expanding its Pringles Mingles line with a new Sweet & Salty flavor, characterized by a light, airy texture and a combination of buttery sweetness and a salty finish. These product developments are part of Pringles' strategy to explore diverse formats and flavors beyond its traditional offerings.
