Primark is set to introduce a home delivery service in Britain, marking a significant expansion of its online operations. This move comes four years after the retailer first ventured into e-commerce.
To facilitate the new service, Primark has acquired a fulfillment facility located in Sheffield. This facility will enable the company to ship products directly to customers' homes.
Primark's online presence has evolved since its initial foray in 2022, when it launched a click-and-collect service. Under that model, customers were required to collect their online orders from physical stores.
The company stated that it sees "opportunity for profitable growth" through the implementation of home deliveries. This initiative is expected to help bolster sales, particularly following a period of subdued trade attributed to recent hot weather.
