A new line of air-conditioned jackets designed for pets has been released in Tokyo by maternity clothing brand Sweet Mommy. The innovative garments are equipped with two fans attached to the sides of the jacket, aimed at cooling the area around the animal.
The white jackets feature openings for the front legs and are available in multiple sizes to accommodate different breeds. The product was showcased at a promotional event featuring various pets, including French bulldogs named Makana and Milk, a Munchkin cat named Yuki, and a Chihuahua named Towamaru.
Sweet Mommy claims the jacket can reduce the ambient temperature around the pet by approximately 4 degrees Celsius. The design was reportedly developed under the supervision of an animal doctor at Oasis Animal Hospital.
The wearable fan component is battery-powered and weighs approximately 80 grams. An earlier iteration of the wearable fan jacket is currently marketed online for around £60.
