McDonald's Australia is bringing back its highly anticipated Cheesy Range, a popular limited-time offering that was last available three years ago. The revival, set to begin on Wednesday, August 19, will feature the return of the Cheesy Quarter Pounder and Mozzarella Sticks with Tomato Chilli Jam, along with two new additions: the Cheesy Double Quarter Pounder and the Cheesy McCrispy.
Tobi Fukushima, Marketing Director at McDonald's Australia, stated that the decision to reintroduce the range was driven by its significant popularity during its previous run. "We know Aussies absolutely loved the Cheesy range when it was last on the menu, so we're excited to be bringing it back and making it even better with the introduction of the new Cheesy Double Quarter Pounder and Cheesy McCrispy," Fukushima said. "Whether you're revisiting an old favourite or trying one of the new burgers for the first time, the Cheesy range is the ultimate comfort food for cheese lovers."
The Cheesy Quarter Pounder, a centerpiece of the returning menu, includes a quarter-pound Australian beef patty, melted cheese, and an additional golden cheesy patty. It is served on a sesame seed bun with Australian lettuce, McChicken sauce, and tomato chilli jam. The Mozzarella Sticks with Tomato Chilli Jam, also returning, feature breaded mozzarella served with the same sweet and spicy dipping sauce.
The new Cheesy Double Quarter Pounder doubles the beef patties from the original burger, incorporating two quarter-pound Australian beef patties, the signature cheesy patty, melted cheese, lettuce, McChicken sauce, and tomato chilli jam. The Cheesy McCrispy offers a chicken option, combining a crispy Australian chicken breast fillet with the cheesy patty, melted cheese, lettuce, McChicken sauce, and tomato chilli jam on a soft bun.
This menu update follows a period of significant experimentation for McDonald's Australia, including a recent nationwide expansion of its beverage offerings. The company views limited-edition menus, particularly those that revive popular past items and introduce variations, as a key strategy for re-engaging customers. The current launch leans into nostalgia by bringing back a beloved range after a three-year absence while offering novelty through the new double-beef and chicken versions.
The Cheesy Range will be available for a limited time across all McDonald's Australia channels, including drive-thru, restaurant counters, kiosks, and the MyMacca's app, starting August 19.
