Gatwick Airport is experiencing a water outage due to a burst main, affecting services primarily in its North Terminal. The incident has led to the closure of toilets in the North Terminal, with most facilities in the South Terminal remaining operational.

SES Water, the water company responsible for the supply, confirmed that its teams are working on repairs. "We are sorry for the disruption this is causing customers and will continue to provide updates," said Anthony Rochester, head of networks at SES Water. He added that the burst main was "temporarily affecting supply including Gatwick Airport" and that repair teams were on site.

While food outlets in the North Terminal remain open, they are restricted to offering takeaway services for passengers to consume elsewhere, as seating areas are unavailable.

Passengers expressed frustration over the lack of basic amenities. "It's quite frustrating, but everyone seems to be pretty fine," said Natasha Nzekwe, a traveler booked to fly to Amsterdam. "There's no water at all, you can't even wash your hands in the toilets." She noted that the situation would be more challenging for those on long-haul flights.

This is not the first time Gatwick has faced water supply issues. In July, both terminals experienced a loss of running water for several hours following a power failure at a local treatment works.
