The private equity consortium that acquired EverBank three years ago is seeking an exit strategy, according to reports. The five ownership firms have reportedly clashed over the lender's strategic direction since their 2023 purchase.

The group of investors, which includes Centerbridge Partners, Blackstone, FactSet, and others, is exploring options to sell EverBank. These discussions come as the firms have encountered disagreements regarding the bank's future path and operational strategies.

EverBank, headquartered in Florida, was taken private in a deal valued at approximately $2.5 billion in September 2023. At the time of the acquisition, the firms aimed to leverage their expertise to enhance the bank's performance and market position. However, internal differences appear to have complicated those plans, leading to the current pursuit of a divestment.
