The crafting shop, The Kiwi Fruit is Cute, has launched a fundraiser to ensure its continued operation amidst financial difficulties. The shop, known for its "Make & Mingle" sessions where participants bring their own projects to work on in a group setting, is facing a "difficult period," according to its owners.

These sessions attract individuals who prefer crafting in a communal environment rather than at home. Additionally, the space is utilized by charities, such as Oscar's Community Corner, for their crafting activities. The owners stated they are currently working other jobs and do not draw a salary from the business, reinvesting all profits back into the shop. They are personally investing their own finances to keep the business afloat.

"We are working other jobs and don't take a wage from the business at all, we put everything back in. We are personally pushing our own finances into it to try and keep things going," the owners explained. "As much as the business is growing... it is a real struggle at the moment. We are in a difficult period."

The fundraiser aims to help the shop remain open and continue to offer an inclusive and affordable space. "This [the fundraiser] is so we keep open and keep things inclusive and affordable," they added. The owners expressed a strong desire to continue the business, stating, "We don't want to give up, we want to keep making this work."
