Capella Sydney Ranks 16th in World's 50 Best Hotels 2026

The World's 50 Best Hotels 2026 awards have recognized Capella Sydney at number 16 globally, a slight decrease from its 12th place ranking in 2025. The prestigious list, revealed at an event in Paris, saw Rosewood Hong Kong named the world's best hotel for the second consecutive year.

Capella Sydney, located in a restored Edwardian sandstone building near Sydney Harbour, is noted for its blend of historic architecture, contemporary Australian art, and luxury amenities. The hotel features 192 rooms and suites, the restaurant Brasserie 1930, and the McRae Bar. Its wellness facilities include a 20-meter indoor pool, gym, spa, and other amenities designed to provide a serene experience in the city center.

The ranking is determined by over 800 anonymous members of The World's 50 Best Hotels Academy, comprising hoteliers, travel journalists, educators, and luxury travelers who vote based on their stays. The academy members vote for hotels they have experienced globally over a three-year period.

Beyond the top 50, Brisbane's The Calile hotel secured a spot on the extended 51-100 ranking at number 83. This marks its fourth consecutive appearance since the awards launched in 2023 and makes it the only hotel in Oceania to have been listed every year. The Calile, known for its subtropical design and resort-style pool, has also focused on integrating with its local Brisbane environment, collaborating with artists and cultural organizations.

Nightly rates at Capella Sydney typically range from approximately $800 to $1,100 AUD.
