Aston Martin has launched its second motorcycle, the AMB 002 Roadster, a road-legal machine priced around £120,000. This exclusive model is a follow-up to the 2019 AMB 001, which was designed for track use only. The new motorcycle is a collaboration with Brough Superior, a historic British marque known for its luxury, high-performance motorcycles.

Production of the AMB 002 Roadster will be limited to 300 units, intended for Aston Martin's most loyal customers. The marque has a historical connection to T.E. Lawrence, known as Lawrence of Arabia, who owned eight Brough Superior motorcycles during his lifetime. He died in 1935 following a crash on one of these machines.

The AMB 002 Roadster is described as an entirely new motorcycle, not merely an evolution of its predecessor. It features a design shaped around the rider's body position, with a forward-biased stance. The carbon-fibre fuel tank and rising side fairings are designed to support the rider's arms when tucked in. Crescent-shaped gills are integrated into the bodywork to aid engine cooling and airflow.

The motorcycle weighs just 190kg, with details such as wire-design stalks for the low-slung mirrors helping to keep mass to a minimum

Weighing 190kg, the motorcycle emphasizes lightweight construction. Elements like wire-design stalks for the mirrors and pared-back bodywork contribute to minimizing mass, exposing mechanical components for visual drama. The design also incorporates cues from Aston Martin's car line, with twin oval exhausts reminiscent of the Vanquish and DB12, and rear light blades inspired by the Vulcan, Valkyrie, and Valhalla hypercars.

Inside, traditional craftsmanship meets modern technology. The motorcycle features a hand-crafted leather saddle alongside keyless locking, an illuminated push starter button, and digitally remastered clocks. Power comes from a bespoke 1,083cc four-stroke V-twin engine producing 130bhp and 110Nm of torque. Aston Martin states the focus was on strong low and mid-range torque for a rewarding on-road experience, rather than outright superbike performance.

Brough Superior is responsible for developing the engine and will also handle the machining of many components and the hand-building of the AMB 002 Roadster at its factory in Toulouse, France. The engine casings are CNC-machined from billet aluminum, and the 5kg frame is milled from solid titanium billet.

AMB 002 Roadster uses Brough Superior's double-wishbone 'Fior' front suspension, which separates steering and braking forces to stop the front end diving under deceleration

The AMB 002 Roadster is equipped with Brough Superior's double-wishbone 'Fior' front suspension, designed to separate steering and braking forces, reducing front-end dive during deceleration. This suspension system aims to enhance steering precision, agility, and high-speed stability. With the rider, the bike is claimed to achieve a 50:50 weight distribution and a low center of gravity for easier maneuvering at lower speeds.

Prices have yet to be confirmed but should be around £120,000. However, bespoke modification of each of the

Order books are now open, with customer deliveries anticipated to begin in the second quarter of 2027. While the starting price is around £120,000, Aston Martin's bespoke customization options are expected to increase the final cost for many units. Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's executive vice president and chief creative officer, stated that the AMB 002 represents a long-held dream to create a road-legal Aston Martin motorcycle, combining the design aesthetics and engineering innovation of both brands.
