All-inclusive holidays, often sought by travelers looking for a complete escape, can sometimes be more economical than traditional bed and breakfast accommodations, according to new research.

New findings from holiday comparison site TravelSupermarket analyzed average three-star, seven-night holiday prices across more than 60 destinations. The research highlights significant variations in the cost difference between bed and breakfast and all-inclusive options depending on the location.

Marrakech, Morocco, topped the list of destinations where all-inclusive breaks are cheaper. An average seven-night all-inclusive stay in Marrakech costs £348 per person, compared to £479 for a bed and breakfast option, representing a 27% saving. This means travelers can enjoy all food and drink for the week at a lower cost than just accommodation and breakfast.

Malta followed, with a week-long all-inclusive package averaging £518 per person, a £46 saving compared to the £565 average for bed and breakfast. Egypt ranked third, where an all-inclusive trip is £9 cheaper than a B&B stay, totaling £605 per person.

Several other destinations offer upgrades to all-inclusive for minimal additional cost. Phuket, Thailand, ranked fourth, with an all-inclusive week costing just £15 more per person than a B&B stay, a difference of under 1%. Bodrum, Turkey, was fifth with an increase of £7, Sri Lanka sixth with an added £51, and Turkey's Antalya Area seventh with an additional £20.

Spain's Costa de Almería was eighth, with a £47 increase for a seven-night all-inclusive stay. Menorca followed in ninth place with an additional £66, and Crete in tenth with an extra £56. These Spanish destinations added between 7% and 9% to the overall holiday price for the week.

In second place is Malta, where you can save £46 by going all-inclusive

Conversely, some destinations see a substantial price increase when opting for all-inclusive packages. Sardinia leads this list, with a week of all-inclusive averaging £1,873 per person, a £1,055 increase or 129% more than the £818 average for a B&B stay. Florida was second, with all-inclusive packages adding £1,300 per person for the week, an 118% jump.

Aruba ranked third, where an all-inclusive seven-night stay costs £1,593 more per person, an 80% increase. The Athens area was fourth, with an additional £470, or 77% more. Abu Dhabi completed the top five, where all-inclusive trips added £818 per person for the week, representing a 71% increase over the B&B price.
