A $55 million mansion in Paradise Valley, Arizona, is on the market, aiming to become the state's most expensive home sale. The estate includes a subterranean bunker stocked with five years of food, an underground shooting range repurposed as a doomsday retreat, and advanced AI-powered security.

The current owners purchased the property for $33.5 million in 2025 and invested approximately $15 million in renovations and upgrades, transforming the 23,417-square-foot home into a European-inspired retreat. The landscaping alone cost $7 million, featuring 30 ancient olive trees.

Security features include fortress-like walls, a long private driveway, and an AI surveillance system capable of facial recognition and distinguishing animals from humans. The property also boasts a resort-style swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen, a hidden speakeasy, a golf simulator, pickleball courts, and a wellness area with saunas and a cold plunge.

Listing agent Katrina Barrett noted that despite the home's elaborate security, the Paradise Valley area has very low crime rates. The estate also includes a separate guest residence.

The asking price of $55 million significantly exceeds Arizona's current residential sales record of $40.2 million. Barrett attributes the premium to the home's location, privacy, design, and extensive upgrades, noting that the luxury market in Arizona is seeing increased interest from out-of-state buyers and cash transactions.
