Rescuers in Nepal have found survivors more than 10 days after a massive landslide of ice, rock, and mud swept through a Himalayan valley. Chandika Shrestha, a 64-year-old woman, was discovered alive on the fourth floor of her partially buried house in the Nuwakot district on September 5, according to Reuters.

Nepal's Armed Police Force located Shrestha and airlifted her to a hospital in Kathmandu for treatment. Her survival comes after more than 10 days trapped within her home, which was inundated by the powerful landslide. The incident occurred in a region prone to such natural disasters, exacerbated by recent weather patterns. The search for additional survivors continues as authorities assess the full extent of the damage.
