A 48-year-old man faces charges of attempted murder and firearm possession with intent to endanger life following a shooting incident in Woolwich, south London, on the evening of October 22.

Paul Rosser-Davies, of Greenwich, was arrested and charged after the victim, a 32-year-old father of four, was shot multiple times near the Royal Artillery Barracks. Police responded to reports of gunfire on France Street around 8:09 p.m. and found the man in his parked car with gunshot wounds.

The victim was reportedly attempting to de-escalate a road rage argument between two motorists when he was shot. He was treated at the scene before being airlifted by the London Air Ambulance to an east London hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Reports indicated the man had a low chance of survival.

The shooter fled the scene in a dark-colored saloon vehicle, heading in the direction of Woolwich Church Street.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley of the Met's Specialist Crime Command, leading the investigation, stated that the inquiry is ongoing into the "senseless act of violence." He urged anyone with information, regardless of its perceived significance, to come forward, assuring that all provided information will be handled confidentially.
