A woman narrowly escaped death by leaping from her 11th-floor apartment window onto a fire truck's aerial platform as flames engulfed a high-rise building in Berlin-Friedrichshain on Friday. The dramatic rescue was captured on harrowing footage.
The fire, which broke out in the residential building, prompted an urgent response from emergency services. The rescue ladder deployed by firefighters could only reach the ninth floor, necessitating a perilous jump for the woman trapped on the 11th floor.
In the video, the woman is seen dangling from the window as smoke and flames billow out. A firefighter, positioned two floors below in the rescue truck's basket, can be seen urging her to jump. She made the leap of faith, plummeting toward the extended basket with outstretched arms.
She landed safely in the basket and was subsequently lowered to the ground. A total of 13 individuals sustained minor injuries during the blaze. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control in less than three hours.
