A significant waterspout formed over Lake Constance near the southern German city of Friedrichshafen on Wednesday.
The meteorological phenomenon reportedly lasted for approximately five to 10 minutes.
According to the German Weather Service (DWD), as cited by the Associated Press, waterspouts occur with some regularity, appearing on lakes or seas about two to three times per year in Germany. A waterspout is essentially a tornado over water, forming when a spinning column of air makes contact with both the water surface and a cumulonimbus cloud.
