A 62-year-old man has been charged with misconduct in public office for allegedly sharing the addresses of asylum seeker accommodations. The employee of Serco, a company that provides housing for asylum seekers, was arrested and appeared in court on Monday.

James Jobson, from Norwich, is accused of releasing information about multiple addresses in Thetford, Norfolk. These properties were subsequently targeted by crowds over three consecutive nights earlier this month, leading to violent disorder, according to Norfolk Police.

Jobson was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Norwich Crown Court on September 14. The charges stem from the alleged sharing of information that led to the disturbances in the town.
