Three British women have gone missing after failing to return from a holiday in South Africa, according to reports. Liz Osborne, her niece Kimberlee Langley, and their friend Mel Wright traveled to South Africa on October 22 and were expected back in the UK between October 30 and November 1.

Their families reported them missing on November 4 after losing contact. It remains unclear if the women boarded their flight home, though local reports suggest the plane they were scheduled to travel on may have been delayed and diverted through France. Liz Osborne's daughter, Courtney, has filed a missing person report for the trio.

In an online appeal, Courtney stated, "My Mum Liz Osborne has been officially declared as a missing person. Along with my cousin Kimberlee Langley and Kim's friend Mel Wright." She urged anyone with information to contact her or the police.

The disappearance of the three women occurs nearly a year after another British woman, Lorna McSorley, vanished while hiking in South Africa. McSorley, 71, disappeared in September 2025 in the KwaZulu-Natal province. Her partner had returned to their hotel to retrieve a hat, leaving her to continue a walk alone. Despite extensive searches, she has not been found.

Locals in the area where McSorley disappeared have suggested that she may have been a victim of a "muti" ritual, a practice involving traditional medicine or magic that some believe requires human body parts. McSorley's brother has called for her case to be investigated as a murder rather than a missing person inquiry, stating that the family is in "limbo" without knowing what happened.

The Foreign Office has been approached for comment regarding the disappearance of Osborne, Langley, and Wright.SOURCE1SOURCE2
