A third teenager has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred at a Halloween party in Chandler's Ford, Eastleigh, on October 31. A 16-year-old boy, from Bristol, was arrested overnight on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody. He joins two other teenagers, aged 16 and 17 from Southampton, who were also arrested on suspicion of murder.
The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. at a property on Park Road, where police found that a group of teenagers had scaled a fence to gain access to a party. Five boys, three aged 16 and two aged 17, were assaulted. Four of the victims sustained serious injuries and have since been discharged from the hospital, while a 17-year-old remains in the hospital in a life-threatening condition.
The party had been organized by a 17-year-old girl and was intended for a smaller group of friends. However, approximately 100 people attended after details were shared on Snapchat and following the closure of another nearby Halloween event. The host's parents were present but were unable to control the large numbers.
Witnesses reported that the uninvited group scaled the fence and entered the garden, initiating a fight that escalated to stabbing. Knives were produced by the group who then fled the scene. The victims are believed to be friends who had attended Thornden School together.
Police are continuing their investigation, reviewing footage and witness statements to piece together the events of the evening. Detective Chief Inspector Elizabeth Pirie urged anyone with information to come forward, no matter how insignificant it may seem. Chief Inspector Rachel Noble emphasized support for those affected by the violence and encouraged reporting of any relevant information to assist the investigation team.
