Spain has initiated a mass deportation of migrants who entered the territory of Ceuta, a Spanish exclave bordering Morocco. An estimated 60,000 migrants reportedly arrived in the territory in a surge that overwhelmed local resources. Videos depicted migrants swimming to the shore and breaching fences to gain entry.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez described the influx as an "attack" and a "violation of Spain’s territorial integrity." In response, the government has increased troop deployment to the region and added divers and maritime service vessels to its operations. The situation has drawn criticism from some Spanish citizens, with reports of angry protests during Sánchez's visit to the area.
