Rosewood Hong Kong Tops World's 50 Best Hotels List for 2026

The world's 50 best hotels for 2026 have been unveiled, with Rosewood Hong Kong securing the top spot. The fourth annual edition of The World's 50 Best Hotels showcases 50 properties across six continents and 22 territories, featuring a mix of grand landmarks, design-focused city stays, and secluded retreats.

Asia has a strong presence in the ranking, with 18 hotels making the list, underscoring its position as a hub for global hospitality. Europe follows closely with 21 hotels, including six each in Italy and France, while the United Kingdom has four properties represented.

Rosewood Hong Kong, which previously won in the 2025 list, is a 65-storey contemporary hotel overlooking Victoria Harbour. Since its opening in 2019, it has become a notable feature on the city's skyline. Designed by Tony Chi, the hotel features 413 rooms and suites, along with 11 restaurants and bars.

Securing the second position is Capella Bangkok, a riverside retreat on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River. The hotel, which was ranked first in 2024, moved up from third place in the previous year's ranking. It offers 101 rooms, villas, and suites.

Asia also dominates the top three with Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River taking the third spot. Located along the River of Kings, this hotel features Mediterranean-style gardens and 299 rooms.

Other notable entries in the top 10 include Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, which climbed from sixth to fourth place, and Passalacqua in Lake Como, Italy, the highest-ranking European hotel, which also retained its Best Boutique Hotel Award for the third consecutive year. Rosewood São Paulo in Brazil rose 18 places to sixth, followed by Mandarin Oriental Qianmen in Beijing, Upper House Hong Kong, Chablé Yucatán in Mexico, and Mandarin Oriental Bangkok rounding out the top 10.

Europe is well-represented with hotels such as Italy's Passalacqua at fifth, and France's Hôtel de Crillon at 14th and Le Bristol at 19th. Cheval Blanc Paris, also in France, takes the 20th spot, noted for its opulent spa and a penthouse suite priced at £39,000 per night.

The United Kingdom has four hotels in the top 50. Claridge's in London ranked highest at 13th, up from 16th the previous year. Raffles London at The OWO is listed at 28th, and The Connaught is at 49th. Estelle Manor in Witney, UK, also made the list at 43rd.

The list also includes other significant properties such as Aman Tokyo, Four Seasons Firenze, San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, and Bulgari Tokyo.
