Rescue efforts are ongoing eight days after devastating flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border, with hopes of finding survivors trapped inside tunnels near Nepal's Trishuli River.

The catastrophic event, triggered by a "glacial collapse" high in the Himalayas, has resulted in at least 1,200 deaths and left thousands missing. The surge of floodwater and debris inundated roads and villages, causing widespread destruction.

BBC South Asia correspondent Azadeh Moshiri is reporting from one of the tunnel sites, where the search for survivors continues amid the aftermath of the disaster.
