Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel, identified as a major figure in Scotland's gangland scene, was arrested at his Glasgow home on Wednesday. The arrest was part of a significant UK-wide police operation targeting organized crime.
Daniel is understood to be the head of the Daniel crime family, which has been involved in a long-standing feud with the rival Lyons family. The operation, known as Operation Venetic, has been responsible for dismantling several organized crime gangs across the United Kingdom.
Officers briefed at a police station before converging on Daniel's residence in the north of Glasgow. He was taken into custody after officers initially approached the property. A second man, Steven Gordon, was also arrested simultaneously as part of the ongoing operation.
