Northern Territory Police have initiated an urgent search for a prisoner who escaped custody while being transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital on Sunday evening. The prisoner, identified as 26-year-old Isaac Thompson, reportedly broke free from officers around 8:15 p.m. as he was being escorted from an ambulance to the hospital's emergency department.

At the time of his escape, Thompson was wearing only shorts and socks and remained handcuffed, according to NT Police. Sergeant Kenneth Bradshaw of NT Police issued a warning to the public, advising them not to approach Thompson, citing his known association with the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

"We're asking members of the public not to approach him," Sgt. Bradshaw stated. "If you see him, call Triple Zero immediately." He also urged Thompson to surrender to authorities.

Thompson was last observed running along Rocklands Road. The Northern Territory Police continue their search.
