Princess Eugenie has named her first daughter Adelaide Elizabeth Annina, she announced on Monday.

The infant, who was born on Aug. 3 in Lisbon, Portugal, is the third child of Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank. She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces (3 kilograms) at birth.

"Two weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world," Princess Eugenie said on Instagram. "And since then we’ve had the most special, cosy and love-filled time."

Princess Eugenie, the younger daughter of the former Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, is the niece of King Charles III. The new daughter joins her two older brothers, August, 5, and Ernest, 3.

According to Eugenie, the baby's name honors three individuals whom the family "love and admire past and present." These include Eugenie's late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and reflects the family's English and Portuguese connections.

The name Adelaide was also inspired by Queen Adelaide (1792-1849), the wife of King William IV, and Maria Adelaide of Portugal. Annina is the name of a close friend.
