A pregnant woman, her young son, and his maternal grandmother were killed in a drive-by shooting at a Spanish holiday resort on Sunday night. Two masked individuals on motorbikes opened fire on members of the same family in Isla Cristina, located on the Costa de la Luz.

Local police reported that two additional individuals were wounded in the crossfire, with one sustaining serious injuries and being transported to the hospital. The bodies of the victims remained at the scene until a judge authorized their transfer for autopsies. The Civil Guard is leading the investigation into the incident.

Early investigations suggest the shooting may be a retaliation between rival gangs. Authorities have linked the incident to a previous shooting in Huelva in September 2024, which resulted in one death and two injuries. Reports indicate that the three individuals killed in the recent attack are relatives of the man arrested in connection with the 2024 shooting. Several of this suspect's relatives had reportedly relocated to Isla Cristina from the provincial capital after the earlier crime.

Isla Cristina is a significant fishing port in southern Spain, known for its beaches. The nearest airports are Faro in Portugal, approximately 40 miles away, and Seville, 80 miles away.

Investigators are conducting a large-scale search operation to apprehend the suspects. Police have appealed for any information regarding the perpetrators, assuring confidentiality for informants.
