A Learjet 60 carrying nine people crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Sunday, creating a fiery crater in the street and killing everyone on board. The aircraft was en route from Texas to the Bahamas when it plunged approximately 27,000 feet in one minute, according to reports.

Dramatic video footage shows the aftermath of the crash, with a large hole in the road and debris scattered around the scene, accompanied by billowing smoke from fires at the impact site. Officials have not yet identified the nine individuals who died in the incident.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. However, the pilot's final communication to Miami air traffic controllers indicated that ice was accumulating on the aircraft, with an outside air temperature of -47 degrees Celsius. Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have previously issued safety warnings regarding the dangers of flying in icy conditions. An NTSB safety alert from 2024 cautioned that ice accumulation can cause flight instruments to malfunction, potentially leading to a loss of level flight.

The $2 million Learjet 60 crashed near a mobile home community in Greenacres, an area less than eight miles from President Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort. Outgoing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the crash as "cataclysmic."
