Beau Lamarre-Condon, accused of murdering Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, allegedly sent a text message from Baird's phone after the killings, a court heard Tuesday.

The Crown prosecutor read a statement from Lana Thrupp, the owner of a television production company, who had offered Baird a job as an executive producer for a shark documentary. Baird was due to start the role on February 19, the same day he was allegedly murdered. Thrupp became concerned when she couldn't reach Baird and received a text message from his phone at 10:57 p.m. on February 20.

The text read: "Hey Lana sorry to do this to you, but after a lot of thought, I think it would be best if I resign immediately. I'm sorry to do this to you but I need to focus on myself." Thrupp later abandoned plans to contact Baird's mother after receiving this message.

During his time with a new boyfriend in January and February 2024, Lamarre-Condon reportedly described living a 'high-end life' and knowing 'A-list celebrities.' He also mentioned being in a 'situationship' with another man, whom he did not name, and expressed concern about his Tesla app activity and Spotify listening habits being monitored.

Around the time of the alleged murders on February 19, Lamarre-Condon sent the boyfriend texts and voice messages. On February 20, he sent voice messages claiming to be 'very sick' and undergoing a 'day procedure' at a hospital. He also declined an invitation to a boat party, citing a lack of positive feelings about his body and a desire to avoid a 'boat full of gays.'

The court previously heard that Lamarre-Condon underwent a minor procedure on February 21 before allegedly driving the bodies of Baird and Davies to a rural property. The following day, he sent another voicemail to the boyfriend stating he had 'shut down all my social media' to have 'a bit of a break, mentally,' and had 'temporarily deactivated' his accounts because social media was 'addictive.' The boyfriend did not hear from Lamarre-Condon again.
