England football legend Millie Bright has announced she is pregnant, revealing she is expecting her first child with influencer barber Tom Mitchell. The former England and Chelsea captain shared the news in an interview with Women's Health magazine.

"It's been very hard to keep it a secret, but it's finally out," Bright told the publication. "It's the greatest gift you can be given - to bring a life into the world - so we're excited."

The announcement comes approximately four months after reports surfaced that Bright, 33, was settling down with Mitchell. The couple reportedly met to discuss content creation around the time Bright announced her retirement from professional football earlier this year. They have since documented their relationship, described as "laughs, chaos, adventures," on a joint Instagram page, attending events and traveling together.

Mitchell expressed his excitement about the pregnancy, stating, "We're grateful. I was very excited when I found out. I jumped up out of bed and then I was an emotional wreck until about 3 or 4am in the morning."

Bright, currently in her second trimester, has spoken about the challenges of navigating bodily changes during pregnancy. "It's been difficult. I'm used to being very athletic and my body fitting into certain clothes, and that's been changing," she said. "Now I'm embracing it and I feel good about myself, confident and happy, because I'm getting to the stage where I look pregnant and feel pregnant, whereas before I just felt unfit."

Bright concluded a 12-year career as a formidable center-back, having won 20 major domestic trophies. She was a key player in England's Euro 2020 victory and captained the team to the Women's World Cup final in 2022. Her career also included periods of significant personal relationships that garnered media attention, including her engagement to performance coach Levi Crew and a subsequent relationship with Dave Zetolofsky.

Bright was recognized with an Order of the British Empire in the 2024 New Year's Honours List for her contributions to women's football.
