A significant fire has devastated Drammen in southern Norway, destroying more than 100 homes and spreading into a nearby forest, according to rescue officials. Hundreds of residents have been evacuated from the area, located approximately 30 miles west of Oslo. As of the latest reports, no casualties or missing persons have been confirmed.

Dozens of firefighters are currently engaged in efforts to contain and extinguish the blaze. Local police have stated that the fire remains uncontrolled. The cause of the fire is not yet clear, but dry conditions and recent heat are believed to have contributed to its rapid spread. A spokesperson for the Drammen Red Cross noted that the weather conditions facilitated the quick advance of the fire once it began.
