A man in his 70s died after being trampled by cattle at Felbrigg Hall, a National Trust property in Norfolk, on Monday, July 13, 2026. Emergency services were alerted to the incident on the parkland grounds near Cromer at approximately 11:45 a.m.
Despite efforts to save him, the man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, and police are investigating the circumstances alongside the Health and Safety Executive. The National Trust has closed Felbrigg Hall for the remainder of Monday and for the following day.
A spokesperson for the National Trust expressed deep sadness and extended condolences to the man's family and friends. The property, which spans 520 acres and includes woodland, a lake, and a walled garden, was donated to the National Trust in 1969. The hall itself was constructed in the 17th century.
This incident is not the first fatality to occur at Felbrigg Hall. In 2007, an 11-year-old boy died when a large tree branch fell on him during a school orienteering trip at the estate.
