Police Scotland discovered Jim Mair, 43, deceased near Corsliehill Road in Houston alongside the body of his wife, 35-year-old Stacy Mair. Stacy Mair was confirmed to have been murdered. Police are treating Jim Mair's death as unexplained pending post-mortem results, but indicated there is currently no evidence to suggest third-party involvement.
The couple married in 2019 and jointly operated a tree removal company named TRS Tree Management. Stacy Mair had served as a director of the firm before resigning from the role in January.
Detective Chief Inspector Laura Young of the force's major investigation team stated, "Our thoughts remain with the families of those affected by this incident. They are understandably devastated and we are providing them with support through specialist officers at this incredibly difficult time."
