A man has died following a late-night altercation at a unit block in Sydney's west. Emergency services responded to reports of an assault at a property on Lister Avenue, Ermington, around 1:15 a.m. on Friday.
Upon arrival, police discovered a man, believed to be in his 40s, with serious injuries. Despite resuscitation efforts by emergency responders, the man was transported to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition and later died. He has not yet been formally identified.
A 30-year-old man was apprehended at the location and taken to Gladesville Police Station. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time. A crime scene has been established.
