A man in his fifties has died after a jet-ski collided with an inflatable he was riding with two children off the Hampshire coast. The incident occurred on Sunday evening around 6 p.m. near Calshot Activity Centre.

Hampshire Police and ambulance crews responded to reports of a man struggling in the sea. Lifeguards from the RNLI and a coastguard rescue team were also present. The coastguard confirmed that the jet-ski rider and the two children were brought ashore safely, but the adult on the inflatable required medical attention.

The man was taken to a hospital where he died on Monday. Police stated that his next of kin have been informed and a file is being prepared for the coroner. Officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Witnesses reported a significant emergency service presence at the scene, including multiple police officers, coastguard units, ambulances, and an air ambulance car. Access points to the area were temporarily closed but later reopened. The local activity centre was also briefly shut down during the rescue operation.
