A 35-year-old man has been charged with 329 child abuse-related offenses allegedly committed over a 16-year period at 62 childcare centers across New South Wales, Australia. The accused, identified as Hamish Tait, is alleged to have victimized at least 136 children.
Tait is accused of offenses occurring between 2009 and 2025. The alleged incidents took place at numerous childcare facilities, including Alasan Cottage Preschool, Amata Anangu School, Beaumont Hills OOSH, Bright Minds Cranebrook, and various Fit Kidz Learning Centre locations. Other centers named in the allegations include Glenning Valley Child Care Centre, Goodstart Early Learning Centre Woodcroft, Montessori Academy branches, and Wild Earthlings sites.
Police arrested Tait in July 2025, but his identity was released to the public recently. The scale of the allegations, if proven, could mean Tait has offended against more children than any other known pedophile in Australian history.
Sources indicate that Tait's alleged offending was accompanied by disturbing online content, including poetry and photographs. Some of his writings reportedly reference school pick-ups, "holding hands" with youngsters, and sharing "sweet bubble gum kisses."
Tait is facing 329 charges in total. He is accused of offenses at locations marked with an asterisk in provided lists, including Fit Kidz Learning Centre in Box Hill, Putney, Rouse Hill, and Warrawee, as well as Wild Earthlings Glenorie, Cumberland State Forest, Sydney Park, and Wolli Creek.
