A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 24-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Stoke-on-Trent. Staffordshire Police were called to an address at Oakwell Court, Longton, at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of Sarah-Louise Pennington. The arrested man, also from Stoke-on-Trent, remains in custody. Authorities have been granted additional time to question him regarding the incident.
Specialist officers are providing support to Ms. Pennington's family as the investigation continues. A police cordon remains in place at the property as of Monday afternoon.
Detective Inspector Kirsty Oldfield stated that the force is making good progress with its inquiries and is not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the death. Officers are conducting house-to-house inquiries and maintaining a visible presence in the area to provide reassurance to the community.
Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, including CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the time of the incident, to come forward.
