A man has been arrested in Johannesburg, South Africa, in connection with the deaths of his wife and their two daughters in Great Denham, near Bedford, England. The family members were discovered deceased in their home on July 6.

Relatives have described themselves as "broken-hearted and crushed in spirit" by the loss. "Words cannot begin to express the depth of our emptiness," the family said in a statement.

The deceased have been identified as Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, who was five years old.

A service of remembrance was scheduled to take place at St James Church in Biddenham on Sunday. However, the church announced that the expected turnout "far beyond what we can safely accommodate," necessitating adjustments to their plans.

Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, 45, was arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder. Investigations are ongoing.
