Five people were injured after a vehicle struck pedestrians on Ealing Broadway in west London on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m., prompting a response from emergency services.

Three of the injured were taken to the hospital, while the other two received treatment at the scene. None of the injuries were reported as life-threatening or life-changing.

A 34-year-old British man, who is Somalia-born, was arrested a short time later in a nearby area on suspicion of attempted murder and dangerous driving. Police stated the driver did not remain at the scene immediately following the collision.

Footage from the incident appears to show bystanders attempting to halt the vehicle and reach inside as it sped away. Witnesses described the car as appearing suddenly before striking individuals at a pedestrian crossing.

Counter Terrorism Policing London was involved in initial inquiries due to the nature of the incident, but authorities have stated it is not being treated as terrorism. Investigators remain open-minded regarding any potential motive.

Road closures were put in place in the vicinity while the investigation progressed. The London Ambulance Service confirmed they deployed multiple resources, including ambulance crews, fast response cars, a volunteer emergency responder, an incident response officer, and London's Air Ambulance to the scene.
