A man has been arrested on suspicion of killing Elisabeth-Jane Ross, a 38-year-old Scottish woman whose body was discovered in a suitcase in Greece. Greek police are investigating the incident, which also includes robbery and weapons offense allegations against the arrested man.

Ross had been staying in the Keratsini area, west of Athens, with local friends. She informed them that she planned to meet "American friends" or acquaintances in Kypseli on July 15. Greek police are working to locate these individuals as part of their investigation.

Authorities are prioritizing toxicology reports to establish the cause of death, with initial results anticipated in the coming days. The full analysis could take several weeks to a few months, depending on the complexity of the case and the workload of forensic laboratories.

Scotland's First Minister John Swinney described the case as "absolutely appalling."
