Pieces of a Learjet that crashed in Florida, killing all nine people on board, tore through a woman's roof and landed in her kitchen, according to images from the scene.
The private jet was traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when it began a rapid descent of approximately 32,000 feet per minute around 12:40 p.m. Sunday. It later exploded in a fireball near a trailer park in Palm Springs, Florida.
Investigators reported that significant portions of the aircraft separated from the plane before impact. These pieces were found scattered across an area ranging from 1.3 to 3.8 miles from the main crash site.
Photos obtained by WPBF 25 News show what appears to be aircraft metal on the kitchen floor of resident Ana Escobar's home, which is located less than a mile from where the plane crashed. The debris tore through her ceiling, leaving a hole where wreckage landed inside her kitchen.
Emergency crews responded to the crash site in Greenacres, Florida. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
