Laura Gallacher, wife of comedian Russell Brand, remained by his side throughout his recent rape trial, where he was ultimately found guilty of raping one woman and sexually assaulting three others. Gallacher, a "mummy blogger" and author, was present in the public gallery at Southwark Crown Court, where she was seen crying as the verdicts were delivered.

Before the jury announced its decisions, Brand, 51, reportedly turned to Gallacher, 39, and said, "Laura, I love you." The couple married in 2017 and have three children. Gallacher, daughter of former golfer Bernard Gallacher and sister to TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher, has largely maintained a private life but has supported her husband, particularly since they launched their Christian YouTube show five months prior to the trial.

Gallacher had previously told viewers that their "Sunday Service" podcast would continue during the trial proceedings. "Pray for us if you feel so inclined," Brand had said. They had returned to Britain from the U.S. with their children approximately three years ago.

Brand was convicted of groping an MTV worker in 2004 and sexually assaulting a Capital Radio worker in 2005. He was also found guilty of sexually assaulting a Channel 4 employee in 2009. The jury acquitted him on two counts of rape and one charge of attempted indecent assault.

In a podcast episode prior to the trial, Brand and Gallacher had spoken about their presence in the UK, with Brand stating, "The Lord has brought us here." Gallacher admitted to feeling nervous about attending court due to the media attention. "I'm not used to getting out of the car and seeing lots of photographers," she said.

The couple met again 11 years ago, with Gallacher recalling the encounter as serendipitous after a difficult period in her life. Friends have described her as "kind-natured" and protective of her family's privacy. Despite her husband's public profile, she has generally shied away from the spotlight, making only occasional appearances on his YouTube channel. She also acknowledged finding his online content challenging, stating, "I don't find it easy, and that's why I don't ever really want to be doing any of it."

Brand, who previously married pop star Katy Perry, has seen his public image shift in recent years due to allegations concerning his treatment of women. He embraced Christianity in 2024 and was baptized in the River Thames alongside his friend Bear Grylls.
