Irish police are collaborating with Jordanian authorities as part of an ongoing murder investigation, according to Ireland's justice minister.
The investigation concerns the death of Jamey Carney, a woman in her 40s, whose body was discovered last week at an address in Killarney, County Kerry. Carney, originally from New York, had relocated to Ireland approximately five years prior and resided with her daughter.
Gardaí, the Irish police force, announced on Thursday that a man they wished to question in connection with the murder had already departed Ireland. Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan stated in comments to Irish broadcaster RTÉ that the gardaí are committed to pursuing the individual regardless of their location.
The gardaí have confirmed they are actively engaging with international law enforcement partners as the investigation progresses. Interpol and Europol have been notified, according to RTÉ reports.
